FEC to develop Angel Meadow homes

Far East Consortium International has been granted planning permission for its £200m residential development at Angel Meadow in Manchester.

The scheme will comprise 756 homes for sale across four buildings, which will border Angel Meadow Park, one of the city’s largest green spaces.

Designed by 5plus Architects, Angel Meadow will incorporate a combination of flats and townhouses across four plots, centred around Angel Meadow Park on Gould Street, Aspin Lane and Old Mount Street.

The first phase of Angel Meadow to launch will be plots two and three, which are on Aspin Lane. JLL and Cushman & Wakefield have been appointed to launch the first phase of apartments this autumn.

Comprising two buildings which rise to 22 and 17 storeys, the development will incorporate 286 one-, two-, and three-bedroom homes with facilities including a gym and 24-hour concierge as well as ground-floor commercial space.

Later phases will include a 41-storey residential tower with retail and leisure space on the ground floor and 333 flats; some of which will feature winter gardens. A landscaped elevated deck above the ground floor will link the park with the new podium via a new series of stepped terraces with incorporated seating areas.

Construction is expected in early 2018.

Angel Meadow forms part of the city centre’s 20-acre NOMA neighbourhood, close to the revamped Victoria station.

Gavin Taylor, regional general manager at Far East Consortium, said: “The scheme will provide high-quality homes to suit a range of buyers from first time buyers to professionals, and families, creating a new sense of place and community in NOMA.”
