BMO Real Estate Partners has appointed Matthew Howard as director of property funds.
Howard will take over from Julian Smith, who steps down at the end of the year after 34 years with the business. He will assume responsibility for the Royal Sun Alliance Shareholders Fund while also supporting Richard Kirby on BMO REP’s flagship vehicle, F&C Commercial Property Trust.
BMO Real Estate Partners is the real estate investment and asset management arm of BMO Global Asset Management, with £6.7bn of assets under management.
Howard joins BMO REP from Hermes Investment Management where he spent the past six years, most recently as deputy fund manager for its Vista UK Build To Rent/PRS Fund.
