Bovis set to abandon high-volume model

WEEKEND PAPERS: Bovis Homes is expected to abandon its high-volume model and go more upmarket in a turnaround programme likely to be revealed alongside interim results this week.

The programme could see the homebuilder focus on building larger homes and concentrate activities more on the south of the country. The average selling price of its homes is expected to rise to £320,000 from £306,000.

The company has already warned that the number of completions will fall. Cost-cutting is also likely to be on the agenda.
