Property professionals from across the UK pounded the streets of Edinburgh in a 5k run at the start of the month for Wooden Spoon, the rugby charity for children. More than 250 professionals took part in the race, many in fancy dress, raising more than £11,000 to help fund life-changing projects for children and young people. The race, organised by Aberdeen Standard Investment, was won by Calum McKenzie of Maclay, Murray and Spens.
Property Rocks for Maggie’s
A host of Scotland’s major property players rocked Edinburgh at the third Property Rocks for Maggie’s event this month.
Sponsored by Morton Fraser, CuthbertWhite and Royal Bank of Scotland, the event attracted more than 250 guests and raised over £16,500 for a new extension to the Maggie’s Centre at the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh.
Revellers were entertained by rock band Hunter, three of whose members work in property: Pete Lowrie of Granite Edge; Nick Atkins of Morton Fraser; and Roy Houghton of DM Hall.
On the night guests made bids to perform with the band, as well as take part in a silent auction for a ski break to Aspen, Colorado.

Bovis Homes has been honoured by the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme for its support for UK armed forces personnel. The Silver Award was presented to executive director Keith Carnegie by Lord Lieutenant of Hampshire Nigel Atkinson in a ceremony on board HMS Victory in Portsmouth Harbour.
LandAid Midlands 10K
More than 200 property runners raced to end youth homelessness at the first LandAid Midlands 10K in Longbridge, Birmingham. Robert Dowse of Pinsent Masons won the men’s race and Abby Halcarz of Opus Land was the women’s champion. Sponsored by St Modwen, the event raised more than £25,000, which helped home 18 vulnerable youngsters in the Midlands.
KF team saddles up
A team of novice cyclists from Knight Frank are preparing to cycle from London to Brighton on 12 October as part of the firm’s day of giving event.
