Countryside and Hyde win planning for Rochester Riverside

Countryside and Hyde Group have received planning for their £400m Rochester Riverside development.

The pair are planning to build 1,400 homes and 13,000 sq ft of commercial space at the 50-acre brownfield site, which stretches from Rochester Bridge in the north to Doust Way in the south.

Full planning permission has been awarded for the first three phases of the development. Designed by BPTW Partnership and HTA Design, 489 homes and a hotel, along with 9,500 of commercial floorspace and landscaping will be delivered.

Andy Fancy, managing director at Countryside Partnerships South, said: “Rochester Riverside will transform the area by offering new homes that will appeal to the whole community and provide a vital new hub for the local area. Throughout the planning process we consulted with the local community to deliver a landmark scheme that is not only in keeping with the surrounding architecture but will benefit Rochester.”

The landowners of Rochester Riverside are Medway Council and the HCA.
