Property cyclists battle gale-force winds to raise £60,000 for Coram

In more than a decade of charity cycle rides to Cannes in the south of France, riders taking part in annual Club Peloton events have battled rain, snow and blistering heat. But never before have a team of property cyclists had to work so closely together to battle gale-force winds.

This year’s annual Cycle to MAPIC, a 700km ride from Girona in Spain to Cannes, was the most blustery on record. Winds reached speeds of as much as 143kph (and sadly were mostly crosswinds and headwinds) making for a tough but rewarding ride.

Teamwork, camaraderie and pure determination got all 56 riders safely (and happily) to the Croisette, where they could continue their networking and dealmaking out of Lycra and padded shorts.

The event, sponsored by King’s Cross, raises money for adoption charity Coram and this year has so far raised more than £57,000. Money raised by the cyclists enables Coram to find and support adoptive parents for some of the most vulnerable children across the country.

Team sponsors this year included British Land, CBRE, Citygrove, Cushman & Wakefield, Nash Bond and Wembley Park.
