Muse submits plans for 60,000 sq ft Stockport Exchange office

Muse Developments and Stockport Council have submitted a planning application for a 60,000 sq ft office building at Stockport Exchange, the £145m mixed-use regeneration project.

Outline planning approval is already in place for the scheme, with a reserved matters planning application submitted for phase three.

The project will ultimately deliver up to 375,000 sq ft of office space and 28,000 sq ft of commercial floor space.

The first phase of the scheme – a 1,000-space multi-storey car park operated by NCP – was completed in 2014.

The second phase, One Stockport Exchange, a 50,000 sq ft office building, was completed in December 2016 and fully let within six months.

Phase two also delivered a 115-bed Holiday Inn Express and new pedestrianised public space outside Stockport Railway Station, creating a new gateway to the town centre.

The works are expected to begin this summer, with completion of phase three anticipated in spring 2020.

The Stockport Exchange development is part of a £1bn investment programme currently under way across Stockport.

Cushman & Wakefield and CBRE have been appointed joint agents for the scheme, which was designed by Aedas RHWL.
