International law firm Simmons & Simmons has agreed a 27,000 sq ft lease at Cubex’s Aurora office scheme in Finzels Reach in Bristol.
The firm has signed a 12-year lease on the top floor and the fifth floor of the 95,000 sq ft building – the only UK property outside London to achieve a BREEAM “Outstanding” accreditation. It will move from its 16,000 sq ft office in Linear Park.
Aurora is now 40% pre-let, six months ahead of its completion, between Simmons & Simmons and intellectual property specialist Mewburn Ellis, which last year agreed to take 13,326 sq ft on the first floor on a 15-year lease.
The office is part of the Finzels Reach development funded by Palmer Capital. Hotel and residential phases have already been completed, with Grainger forward-finding the circa 200 rental flats.
Mahrie Webb, Bristol office head and financial services regulatory partner at Simmons & Simmons, said: “We are very excited to be moving to the new Aurora building and the Finzels Reach location.
“If we are to continue to attract and retain high-quality people to do premium work for premium clients we will need an office environment and location that is modern, inspiring and suited for the way people wish to work now and in the future.
“I see this move as good news for our people and, therefore, good news for our clients.”
Cushman & Wakefield advised Simmons & Simmons. Savills and Knight Frank advised Cubex.
