Barratt Developments has bought a 134-acre site on Dunstall Lane in Tamworth, which has outline planning permission for 800 homes.
Predominantly made up of agricultural land, the site (25% of which will comprise affordable homes) is on the south-western edge of Tamworth close to the Ventura Retail Park. The Birmingham and Fazeley Canal runs along the southern boundary.
David Fenton, UK head of regional land at Knight Frank, said: “The site attracted significant interest from all the major UK housebuilders. The location of Tamworth is ideal given its excellent employment credentials and high-speed transport links to Birmingham and London.”
Knight Frank and Hawksmoor were advising the seller.
