Charity & social: db staff muck in

Db symmetry lent a “neigh-bourly” hand swapping sheds to save stables at local horse riding centre Ride High.

The Milton Keynes equestrian centre helps transform the lives of disadvantaged children by providing the opportunity to learn to ride and care for horses. This improves prospects by building self-esteem and confidence.

The team mucked in cleaning and painting 45 run-down pony stables.

Heads or tails?

Tom Rose and Sir Michael Parkinson

LaSalle Investment Management’s Tom Rose helped bump up the total amount raised at the 100 Property Club’s annual dinner to more than £20,000. As the winner of “heads and tails” Rose paid £450 to have his picture taken with legendary talk show host Sir Michael Parkinson.

The auction proceeds, and the rest of the night’s profits, were donated to Lord’s Taverners – a UK youth cricket and disability sports charity dedicated to giving disadvantaged and disabled young people a sporting chance.

Innes England has contributed £2,500 to the Matt Hampson Foundation’s Get Busy Living Centre, a state-of-the-art rehabilitation facility at Burrough Court Estate in Leicestershire.

Former England under-21 and Leicester Tigers rugby player Matt Hampson set up the foundation after sustaining life-changing injuries in a training session accident in 2005.

The new £1m rehabilitation centre, on the site of a former aircraft hangar, has been transformed into a facility where people who have suffered life-changing injuries through sport can receive physical rehabilitation.

Directors at Innes England Peter Doleman and Matt Hannah presented the £2,500 cheque to the foundation during a tour of the centre. The money will be put towards specialist equipment for the rehabilitation gym.
