According to a new index of British property, the three cities are forecast to experience price rises of between 20% and 30% over the next four years, closing the gap with London.
Hometrack’s UK cities house price index has recorded year-on-year increases of 7.7% in Edinburgh, 7.3 per cent in Birmingham and 6.7% in Manchester, well ahead of 1.6% in London, where prices have risen by 86% since 2009.
