Richardson Barberry chosen for £140m Durham expansion

Richardson Barberry has been selected as the development partner for the £140m expansion of the Aycliffe Business Park in Durham.

Forrest Park Newton Aycliffe chose firm to be its joint venture partner for the development of 1.8m sq ft of industrial and office space on the 116-acre site.

Jonathan Robinson, Richardson Barberry’s director, said: “Working alongside Durham County Council, the Forrest family and the local enterprise partnership, we will create a business park that provides a wide range of high-quality accommodation that will attract major investment and jobs to the region.”

A planning application for Forrest Park will be submitted shortly to Durham County Council. The proposals include a range of office, industrial and distribution units varying in size from 30,000 sq ft to 500,000 sq ft, as well as an 11-unit trade park and leisure and amenity facilities.
