Walden to head Herbert Smith Freehills real estate team

Herbert Smith Freehills has appointed Jeremy Walden as its new head of real estate for UK & EMEA.

Walden, who has worked in the firm’s real estate team for almost 25 years and advises on all aspects of commercial property law, replaces Don Rowlands, who will continue in his role as client relationship partner for core clients, as well as helping to expand the international real estate practice.

Commenting on his appointment, Walden said: “I’m delighted to take on the leadership of Herbert Smith Freehills UK & EMEA real estate team. The team has achieved a huge amount in recent years and owes a real debt of thanks to Don for guiding it so successfully through a period of significant market change.

“I am looking forward to building on the great things that Don has achieved to ensure the real estate team continues to develop its market leading reputation in the UK, EMEA and beyond.”

Walden assumes the role on 1 May.
