TH Real Estate has completed a 100,000 sq ft pre-let to international law firm Sidley Austin at 70 St Mary Axe, EC3.
Sidley has agreed to acquire the space at the building, known as the Can of Ham, on a long-term lease of space in the upper section of the building, with options on an additional circa 34,000 sq ft. It is understood Sidley will pay a rent in the high £60s.
The development, comprising 332,000 sq ft, is due to complete in Q4 this year.
Peter Neal, manager of the Cityhold Office Partnership’s UK portfolio at TH Real Estate, said: “We are delighted to have completed the pre-letting to Sidley at 70 St Mary Axe, a key strategic holding for the Cityhold Office Partnership. The transaction represents an important milestone for this landmark project and we look forward to welcoming Sidley to the building later this year.”
Matthew Dening, managing partner of Sidley’s London office, said: “We are pleased to be relocating to this distinctive new development, and look forward to continued growth in this magnificent and well-located building.”
