Aviva Investors has appointed Standard Life’s Daniel McHugh as head of UK real estate and Round Hill Capital’s Melanie Collett as head of real estate asset management.

McHugh was formerly head of continental European real estate investment at Standard Life Investments.

In his new role, effective today, he will be responsible for all real estate activity in the UK, leading the firm’s specialist fund management, asset management and transaction teams.

She will join Aviva Investors on 23 April, and will be responsible for the firm’s sector-focused asset management teams, development management and project management capabilities.

She replaces Barry Hill, who was carrying out the role on an interim basis in addition to his other responsibilites and will return to his position as head of offices.

Ed Casal, chief executive, Aviva Investors Real Estate, said: “I am delighted to welcome Daniel and Melanie to Aviva Investors in what are key roles for our Real Estate business. Both have a wealth of experience in the UK and European markets. This, combined with their clear leadership qualities, will be invaluable as we look to strengthen our position in the UK and globally.”
