SEGRO to build Enfield spec sheds

SEGRO is to develop a 221,000 sq ft speculative industrial scheme in Enfield, north London, near the M25 and North Circular motorways.

Construction on SEGRO Park Enfield will begin this summer.

The scheme will provide units of 107,880 sq ft, 64,590 sq ft and 48,330 sq ft to cater to the manufacturing, logistics, food and beverage, trade and pharmaceutical industries, as well as data centres, and will feature photovoltaic panels, LED lighting, electric car charging points and parking facilities.

SEGRO, which estimates the scheme will create 410 jobs, has teamed up with Enfield Council to help businesses based there to recruit local people.

The initiative will also involve local colleges and Jobcentre Plus providing training and skills for potential employees.

Alan Holland, business unit director for Greater London at SEGRO, said the scheme was “already seeing strong demand for the space” ahead of construction.
