IWG receives fresh takeover offer

IWG, the world’s largest serviced office provider by footprint, has rejected a fresh takeover approach by US real estate investor Prime Opportunities.

The Los Angeles-headquartered family office said this morning that IWG had rejected an approach for the company, which counts Regus and Spaces among its serviced office brands.

Prime Opportunities said it was still considering the possibility of making an offer for IWG and was “confident in its ability to submit a further proposal to IWG’s board for its consideration in due course.”
The group also said there was no certainty any offer would be made.

It comes after IWG said earlier this month that it had received indicative takeover approaches from three companies – Lone Star, TDR Capital and Starwood.

Earlier this year Brookfield and private equity group Onex Corporation ended talks about a proposed takeover after its £2.5bn bid for IWG was rejected.
