Seaforth Land has appointed Edward Sneddon, a former development manager at Derwent London, as its new head of development.
Sneddon began his career at Goldman Sachs, where he worked in bond and debt trading before becoming an equity fund manager at SG Asset Management, and then moved on to Lloyds TSB Financial Markets as an interest rate derivatives trader.
He joined Derwent London in 2006 and spent 12 years at the FTSE 250 firm, where he worked on projects such as the Shoreditch Rooms hotel and more recently on offices schemes Soho Place at Tottenham Court Road and the Brunel Building in Paddington.
At Seaforth Land Sneddon will be responsible for the company’s delivery of complex office and mixed-use developments, which will include the redevelopment of Grade II listed CAA House in Midtown.
The company, backed by QuadReal Property Group, acquired the brutalist building, known as SpaceHaus, last month from Almacantar for £165m. It is let to the Civil Aviation Authority until December 2019.
Tyler Goodwin, chief executive of Seaforth Land, said: “Ed’s unique combination of talents in development and finance adds to Seaforth’s deep bench of expertise.
“He comes with a stellar reputation as a strong but fair manager of one of London’s leading development teams and as a creative problem-solver who takes a granular approach to construction schedules, budgets and quality control.”
