Countryside has submitted plans to Bromley Council for more than 400 homes and a cultural hub on Ethelbert Road in Bromley, south-east London.
The scheme, to be known as Churchill Quarter, will be close to the town’s theatre and library and if approved, will provide 410 homes in buildings of up to 15 storeys.
Twenty homes, Bromley town church and three shops on Bromley High Street will be demolished to make way for the development, which would provide 35% affordable housing as well as shops, restaurants, bars, community space, and business space.
Countryside was selected as development partner in October 2017. Stich is the architect.
Andy Fancy, managing director for Partnerships South, North and South London at Countryside, said: “Working with local residents, groups and stakeholders, we have tried to create a scheme that complements Bromley Town Centre and respects its location close to Library Gardens, Church House Gardens and the Churchill Theatre.
“These plans would deliver high-quality new homes in Bromley Town Centre alongside enhanced public realm to link the High Street and Church House Gardens.
“The scheme would also provide significant contributions to support improvements to community infrastructure in Bromley, such as local healthcare facilities and schools.”
