CBRE has recruited Richard Day as senior director from DWS to boost its London capital markets team.
Day will work with CBRE’s debt and structured finance team, led by Paul Coates, and its 40-strong London investment properties team, which is led by James Beckham.
Day departs DWS (previously Deutsche Asset Management) after nearly four years at the company, where was a director in the European debt investments team.
Previously, he spent just over a year at US financial services company Wells Fargo.
Day’s hire comes after a series of new additions for CBRE’s capital markets team. In December, the company recruited Coates from RBS where he had been head of real estate finance since 2008.
In September, CBRE hired James Beckham from Cushman & Wakefield, where he was London head of capital markets, as its executive director in London. At C&W Beckham acted on a number of high-profile deals such as Hong Kong food conglomerate Lee Kum Kee’s £1.3bn Walkie Talkie acquisition.
Richard Dakin, managing director for CBRE Capital Advisors, said: “In the current market, clients are increasingly looking for optionality around transactions and want combined real estate and financial solutions.”
Beckham added: “Richard’s expertise in the debt market will strengthen our London investment offering immeasurably and help clients navigate the increasingly challenging and complex property market.”
