HB Reavis has unveiled new plans for Elizabeth House, SE1.
The site, located by Waterloo Station, already has a consented scheme designed by David Chipperfield Architects for two buildings reaching 29 and 10 storeys in height to provide a combination of office space and luxury apartments.
HB Reavis wants to scrap these plans as it does not believe the site is right for residential and said that the apartments would “inevitably be hugely expensive for people to purchase and do little to meet London’s housing needs”.

The new scheme from architect AHMM seeks to create more office space in a single building of a similar height to the consented scheme with a big hall of retail space at ground level.
In addition, the new proposals seek to create a new square which would connect Waterloo Station with the Southbank, as well as a new pedestrian street lined with shops and cafes between Elizabeth House and the station, called the Waterloo Curve.
