BNP Paribas hires JLL’s Palmer for resi push

BNP Paribas Real Estate has hired Caroline Palmer from JLL as it targets Asian real estate investors in the UK property market.

She joins as senior director in Hong Kong, working within BNP Paribas Real Estate’s cross-border international investment group. She will be responsible for the company’s UK residential business, which trades under the name of Strutt & Parker, in the Asia-Pacific region.

BNP Paribas merged with estate agent Strutt & Parker last year, giving BNP Paribas access to the residential market in some of the most expensive areas of London.

Palmer focuses on high-end residential home and apartment transactions in Asia. In her new role, she will help create a bespoke residential offering for high-net-worth Asian clients looking to invest in the UK.

Palmer previously worked at JLL for four years, becoming senior manager in the international properties department.

The appointment comes as Strutt & Parker also strengthens its London residential development and investment team by hiring Josh Ayres from Hamptons as a director, and promoting Sarah Curtis and Richard Thomas to director.

Mark Dorman, BNP Paribas’s head of London residential development and investment, said: “We advise on some of London’s most iconic residential developments, and the expansion of our business to Asia is a natural next step that illustrates the synergies for our business that exist across the BNP Paribas group.”
