Tishman Speyer is partway through a circa £20m refurbishment of the former West End home of The Economist. EG went for a look around with the firm’s UK boss, Dan Nicholson.
Originally completed in 1964, the three-building complex in St James, SW1, includes one of the few tall towers in the West End, standing at 14 storeys high.
It is considered an important example of 1960s brutalist architecture and has been Grade II* listed.
Tishman Speyer already has the top three floors in the tower under offer for more than £150 per sq ft. The entire project is on track to complete by the end of the year.
The company is also in the process of selling the Verde office block in Victoria, SW1.
