Cain International has led a £9m funding round to support the global expansion of AllBright, Britain’s first all-women members club.
The roll-out includes plans to open a second club in London, The AllBright Mayfair, early next year, and AllBright’s first club in the USA in Los Angeles later in 2019.
The club was founded by Debbie Wosskow OBE, who set up the London-based business alongside ex-Hearst magazine chief executive Anna Jones in a bid to discover and fund companies set up by women.
Cain International led the round and AllBright has also appointed co-investor Allan Leighton, former Asda chief exectutive, as its new chairman.
Other investors in the round include newly appointed Darren Throop, chief executive of Entertainment One and Robert Swannell, former chairman of Marks and Spencer.
Jonathan Goldstein, chief executive of Cain International, said: “We believe in AllBright, and since Cain International’s initial investment in 2017, we have watched with pride as the company has grown, delivering on its own long-term growth strategy and providing a supportive space for working women to achieve their goals.
Given our footprint in the US, we are perfectly placed to help Anna and Debbie realise their vision of growing the AllBright clubs, Academy and community in the US and beyond.”
