Weston Homes submits plan for 1,300 homes in Barking

Weston Homes has submitted an EIA application for a major residential-led scheme close to Barking town centre.

The plan for 1,300 homes sandwiches EcoWorld London’s Barking Wharf, which has consent for 600 homes. The two sites that lie either side of Barking Wharf cover nearly six acres in total, with the northern site (the much larger of the two) proposing a 32-storey tower, and the southern portion a 27-storey tower.

A total of 65,000 sq ft of commercial space is also planned on the former retail park, which previously had plans for a Sainsbury’s supermarket.
