An investment group aiming to capitalise on the growing private rental market has announced its intention to raise £175m in an initial public offering of its property division’s rental business.
Harwood Capital, the fund management company run by Christopher Mills, the JO Hambro founder, has established the Multifamily Housing Reit, a real estate investment trust that intends to invest in private rented homes in regional towns and cities.
The market has been growing as people struggle to afford to buy and institutional investors, such as Legal & General and M&G, have been competing to invest.
