Hong Kong developer Samuel Tak Lee has increased his shareholding in Shaftesbury to 26.15%.
Lee, who is the REIT’s largest shareholder, previously owned 25.02% of Shaftesbury’s issued shares, having upped his stake in November from 24.04%.
He is the owner of the Langham Estate, which is close to Shaftesbury’s West End holdings.
Before 2016, Lee had often moved the size of his stake up and down, taking advantage of market movements. However, since then the size of his holdings have only moved upwards.
Shaftesbury’s share price has been on a downwards trajectory over the summer and last closed on the London Stock Exchange at 887.5p.
