Lawyers for Robert Tchenguiz have accused Grant Thornton of “spoon- feeding” a botched criminal investigation into him by Britain’s anti-fraud agency.
The claim was made during the first day of a court battle in which the property tycoon is claiming hundreds of millions of pounds in damages.
Mr Tchenguiz is suing the professional services firm, two of its partners and Johannes Johannsson, an Icelandic lawyer who worked at Kaupthing, the failed Icelandic bank.
