Landsec appoints agents for Southwark scheme

Landsec has appointed agents to market a 135,000 sq ft mixed-use scheme in Southwark, SE1.

The property developer has instructed CBRE and Union Street Partners, Farebrother’s joint venture company with Tuckerman on the South Bank. The pair are also advising on the design and layout process.

Landsec secured planning permission for the development at 105 Sumner Street and 133 Park Street last year.

Under the plans, approved by Southwark Council and the Greater London Authority in October 2017, Landsec proposed demolishing the existing buildings.

In their place, it plans to provide two office buildings of up to nine and 10 storeys. The development will also include the creation of a new basement, public realm and a retail kiosk.

The earliest date the developer can start on site will be October 2019.

Earlier this year, Landsec partnered with Sustainable Bankside to create an innovation lab at 105 Sumner Street.

It plans to relocate the site as the Southwark scheme progresses.

A Landsec press spokesperson said: “The lab is one example of our commitment to innovation, collaboration and developing better, smarter ways of working with our employees and our customers.

“We aim to relocate this important space as our development pipeline progresses.”
