Employees at FirstPort have voted to make Centrepoint the company’s official charity partner for 2019.
FirstPort has committed to matching every donation it receives for Centrepoint, pound for pound. The charity supports 10,000 young people across the country every year.
Sleep in the Park raises £3.5m for LandAid

On Saturday, 8 December, Ian Fergusson, managing partner of Shepherd Chartered Surveyors and chairman of the RICS Scotland, bedded down for the night in Princes Street Gardens as part of the RICS Sleep in the Park Team, in association with LandAid.
The nationwide sleep out saw 12,000 people across Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow sleep under the stars as part of the initiative to end homelessness in Scotland.
So far, the event has raised £3.5m.
Canary Wharf charity spreads a little Sunshine
Canary Wharf Contractors Fund has joined forces with children’s charity Variety to sponsor a Variety Sunshine Coach for children with special needs at North Beckton Primary School in Newham, E6.
Patron Capital’s charity dinner helps Royal Marines
The Royal Marines Charity’s annual London dinner, sponsored by Patron Capital, has raised nearly £1m on 100th anniversary of Armistice.
The dinner at Guildhall in Gresham Street, EC2, was compered by former Royal Marine and TV presenter JJ Chalmers and included performances by the Royal Marines Band Service. A live auction conducted by auctioneer Nick Bonham, combined with a silent auction, raised a total of £385,650.
Patron Capital has been a charity partner of The Royal Marines Charity since 2010, helping it to support individuals injured during active service.
Former Royal Marine Steve Sparkes, who became the first blind person to row across the Pacific, a venture sponsored by Patron earlier in the year, was gifted with an OrCam MyEye, a wearable artificial vision device, at the event.
Supporting small businesses
An experiential Christmas market to tie in with Small Business Saturday was held in Berwick Street, W1, on 1 December. Championing British artists and local businesses, the market stalls hosted independent brands such as ocean conservation organisation Project 0 and British designers’ collective We Built This City.
Local radio station Soho Radio provided an exclusive broadcast with performances from leading alternative choir London Contemporary Voices.

The community spirit of Soho is about coming together to celebrate individuality and creativity.”
