Harworth Group has appointed three directors to lead development in the Midlands, North West and Central regions.
David Cockroft will head the Midlands and Steven Knowles will lead the North West. Harworth has promoted Peter Henry to director of the Central region, covering Yorkshire, Nottingham and Derbyshire.
Cockroft was previously the director of city centre and major projects development at Coventry City Council and also worked for St Modwen Lovell Homes and English Partnerships. He will join the company on 7 January. Knowles joined from St Modwen in September and Henry was previously Harworth’s director of development.
Each regional team will be responsible for the acquisition, promotion and development of all sites in its region, and building local networks and relationships.
Owen Michaelson, Harworth’s chief executive, said the new regional structure was “essential for the business”.
He said: “We believe that this will generate greater management cohesion between the acquisition and delivery functions and allow each regional team to become embedded in their respective local market, further increasing the profile of the business and supporting our efforts to secure further developable land and property to grow the business in a sustainable manner.”
Harworth Group specialises in the regeneration of former coalfield sites and other brownfield land. Its portfolio spans 21,500 acres on 140 sites in the Midlands and the North of England, with major developments in Waverley in Rotherham and Coalville in the West Midlands.
