The owner of The Ivy has shown its resilience in a tough environment for Britain’s restaurants, with trading holding up in conditions that have resulted in a spate of closures among rivals.
Richard Caring’s Caprice Holdings group, which also owns Sexy Fish and Scott’s in Mayfair, reported like-for-like sales growth of 2.1% for the year to December 31 2017.
Its annual accounts record turnover for the year of £67.7m. The company made a pre-tax profit of £9.2m, up from £8.7m the previous year, although it said that margins had been under pressure.
