Aviva hires three to new real estate team

Aviva Investors has made three senior appointments to its newly created direct real estate team as part of the expansion of its £41bn real assets platform.

James Stevens (pictured left), former fund manager and head of UK development at Aberdeen Standard Investments, has been appointed head of development, global real estate.

Stevens will be responsible for identifying and delivering mixed-use developments, joint ventures, land masterplanning and reconfigurations of schemes across a range of commercial and residential sectors. He will report to Daniel McHugh, managing director on the real estate investments team.

Stuart Cranna (centre), former head of enterprise services at BlackRock, will lead the real estate services team with responsibility for property services and client experience.

Aviva has also appointed Tania Green (right) as systems owner of property management software Yardi at the firm. In that role, she will be responsible for enhancing data quality and performance metrics.

Melanie Collett, head of real estate asset management at Aviva, said: “These newly created roles build on our existing expertise and position our real estate business for growth in 2019 and beyond. We will continue to strengthen the DRE team with further hires in 2019.”
