The We Company has unveiled a new retail and temporary workspace offering in New York.
Made by We is based in the city’s Flatiron neighbourhood at 902 Broadway.
The retail aspect builds on the WeMrkt arm of WeWork, which is headed by entrepreneur Julie Rice – best known for co-founding fitness phenomenon SoulCycle – who joined WeWork in November 2017.

Like WeMrkt, We members will be able to sell products such as snacks, clothes and other goods at 902 Broadway. The We Company will earn a small percentage of the sales.
It is understood that both WeMrkt and Made by We will be trialled side-by-side until the firm reaches a decision on how it wants both businesses to run going forward. It does not currently have any plans to expand either offering overseas.
There are currently a half dozen WeMRKTs operating inside NYC and San Francisco WeWork locations, with more scheduled to open in new locations this year.
Made by We is a different freestanding offering and the retail marketplace is part of a wider offering. For instance, the new business offers temporary work space, taking it beyond being just a retail destination. In total, there are nearly 100 desks at 902 Broadway. Users will be able to book the desks instantly and no membership is required. They can pay for a seat for a minimum for 30 minutes and by-the minute after that. Seats may also be reserved ahead of time for a full day.
Six meeting rooms are also available to be booked by the hour or the day.
Rice said: “Everything we do at the We Company, from the spaces we curate to the service offerings we provide, is intended to create meaningful human connections. Made by We was launched with a vision to connect the We community with the rest of the world, and provide people with the best on-demand workspace, services and products, no membership required.”
