Next phases for £500m Centenary Quay regen

Homes England and Crest Nicholson have agreed to deliver 268 homes in the next two phases of the £500m regeneration at Woolston Centenary Quay in Southampton.

The phases will see a 27-storey tower with 165 apartments and 103 new low-rise apartments and houses. Radian and Sovereign will deliver the 46 affordable homes, which will be shared ownership homes.

The development will include extension of the walkway and new public amenity space.

Homes England is the Centenary Quay landowner and Crest Nicholson is its development partner. The plans were approved in 2016 and the agreement now grants a licence for construction on the next two phases of the scheme.

To date over 850 of the 1,620 planned homes have been completed at Centenary Quay.

Scott Black, managing director at Crest Nicholson Regeneration, said: “Crest Nicholson is continuing to invest in Centenary Quay and I look forward to seeing the scheme progress and our partnership with Homes England grow.”

Executive director for land at Homes England Stephen Kinsella said: “This new phase of development will create one of the tallest residential buildings in the city and really make the most of the waterfront presence of Centenary Quay.”
