UK budget hotel chain Travelodge plans to open 100 hotels by 2024 despite warning of short-term economic challenges.
The private company is the second-largest economy hotel chain in the UK, trailing rival Premier Inn by just over 200 hotels. Under its new expansion plan, it will look to challenge Premier Inn by opening in more city centres and near conference venues.
Travelodge has traditionally tended to operate in out-of-town locations. Of the 100 planned hotels, 10 will be part of a £100m investment in hotels near UK event sites.
