Hunger striker ends protest after Clydesdale Bank offers meeting

A businessman is to end a hunger strike after the chief executive of Clydesdale Bank agreed to meet him.

John Guidi, 63, has been camped outside the lender’s Glasgow headquarters since Sunday evening in protest about the way he claims he has been treated. He blames Clydesdale for withdrawing funding from his property business in 2012 and then selling his loans to Cerberus, the American investment group, in 2015.

David Duffy, chief executive of Clydesdale, will discuss Mr Guidi’s grievances in person tomorrow.
