Armstone lodges plans for Manchester BTR scheme

Manchester-based developer Armstone has submitted plans for 89 apartments in Longsight, Manchester, M13.

It seeks to demolish a derelict Victorian warehouse to make way for the 0.7-acre scheme on the city outskirts at 328-336 Stockport Road.

The 10,763 sq ft block will comprise 89 apartments in one tower ranging between five and seven storeys. Seven townhouses will also be built.

Avison Young lodged the plans on the developer’s behalf.

This is the latest in a series of PRS developments planned across Manchester, as the number of completed BTR developments in the regions begins to rival finished schemes in London.

EG also reported earlier this month that Downing Developments has bought Patrizia Immobilien’s 624-home BTR development First Street for £18m. Get Living is also due to begin its 800-home Middlewood Locks scheme and Moda Living is anticipating practical completion of Angel Gardens, which will see a further 466 homes in the city centre.

There are 23,400 BTR homes in Manchester and Salford in planning, under construction or already built, according to recent data from the British Property Federation produced by Savills.
