£35m Bolton resi scheme gets green light

Bolton-based developer Forshaw Land & Property Group has received planning permission for a £35m residential development in Bolton town centre.

Plans comprise 262 new homes to be built in Croal Valley on land fronting St Georges Road between Bark Street and Back Bark Street.

Forshaw managing director Lyndon Forshaw said: “This project will set a new benchmark for high quality residential schemes in Bolton town centre.

“It will provide much needed new homes for people in Bolton and further afield.”

Last week, Muse Developments was also given the green light for its £150m Church Wharf development in town.

The scheme will provide up to 352 new homes, a new hotel as well as office, leisure and retail space.

Both schemes are located in opportunity areas in Bolton Council’s £1.2bn town centre regeneration masterplan.

Phase one of the town centre regeneration moved one step closer to construction after BCEGI agreed heads of terms to join Bolton Regeneration, a consortium led by investor and developer Midia.

The first phase will see a £250m redevelopment of the Crompton Place shopping centre on Victoria Square.
