Kensington & Chelsea Council has refused a planning application for a scheme to create 427 homes in buildings of up to 22 storeys at 100 West Cromwell Road, W14.
In addition, the plans would have delivered a community sports building with a pool and gym, as well as 21,205 sq ft of commercial space.
However, in the planning report for the council, which recommended refusal, the scheme is said to not have included enough affordable homes and concerns were raised over the quality of the affordable homes slated to be in a building which was “segregated” and therefore had poor access to the rest of the development and poor light.
The report added that the development also did not integrate with the wider townscape and street pattern with the buildings overscaled.
The residential element was split between 282 market homes and 145 affordable homes.
The application was made by MB Kensington, which lists Meyer Bergman managing director George Walsh-Waring as one of its directors.
