Reuben Brothers confirms West End purchase

Reuben Brothers has confirmed the purchase of Clareville House, SW1, near Leicester Square from DTZ Investors, on behalf of the National Grid UK Pension Fund.

EG reported last week the private equity business was in advanced talks to acquire the freehold property for around £66m.

The 57,189 sq ft Grade II listed building, at 26-27 Oxendon Street, houses the Japan Centre with its flagship food hall and central courtyard, and Busabi, a Thai restaurant.

The property is also home to the live music venue The Piano Works West End, and has offices on floors one to five.

Tydus Real Estate and Corbett Northam acted for Reuben Brothers; Fineman Ross acted for vendor DTZ Investors.
