The turnaround of Tesco could have been achieved more quickly but would have come at a significant cost, according to the man responsible for its recovery.
Tesco group chief executive Dave Lewis said: “It would have been very easy to turn around the financial performance of Tesco quicker than we have done. It would have been very damaging to do it that way.”
