PropSail breezes through second event

A good wind led to a fabulous day of sailing for PropSail 2019.

Following its inaugural event last year, PropSail has provided a popular addition to the real estate networking calendar.

Raising funds for homeless charity LandAid, 65 sailors took to the sea to compete in the J70s and Sonar regatta across the Solent. The race winners were Rapleys (J70) and CMC (Sonar).

The day of networking was rounded off with a drinks reception and gala dinner, hosted by Datscha, PRE Surveyors and 5 Plus Architects.

Event host sponsors included Rapleys, Avison Young, Paragon and Veritas. Sonar sponsors included Coyote, Malcolm Hollis, GIA, CMC, Howard de Walden Estate, EB7, ResiEquity and Oktra.

Hogan Lovells game for a laugh

Hogan Lovells real estate team has raised more than £12,000 for London crisis charity Hestia.

More than 60 colleagues took part in the Holopoly Challenge, which saw them running around London dressed up as a Monopoly piece or theme to complete their own version of the game board.

The teams were required to provide photographic evidence of each destination they visited, which included HM Treasury and the Stamp Office, and incurred time penalties, as well as stints in “jail” at the Tower of London.

The winning team, Unbootable, was led by Dan Norris, Hogan Lovells UK head of real estate.

Cyclists back in the saddle

Now in its sixth year, the annual Carter Jonas LandAid Pedalthon saw more than 400 cyclists saddle up and raise more than £22,000 for homelessness charity LandAid, bringing the amount raised for charity to date to £80,000. Riders from Carter Jonas and cyclists from across the UK business community completed 30, 50 and 75-mile routes through the Yorkshire countryside.

Memorial golf day raises more than £4k

Aitchison Raffety golf day has raised £4,760 for Rennie Grove Hospice in Hertfordshire. The event was organised in memory of colleague Steve Halliday, who passed away in November 2018. Halliday used to organise the company’s annual “inter-bank” golf challenge. Teams that took to the greens at Barnet’s Shire Golf course included Lloyds Bank, Natwest, Cooperative Bank, Santander, Handelsbanken and Sherrards Solicitors. The winning team and recipient of the Steve Halliday shield was Greenfleets.
