On the corner of Lafayette and Grand Streets, straddling iconic New York neighbourhoods such as SoHo, Chinatown, Nolita and Little Italy, is the first-ever WeWork location. The tenement style building’s location has come to embody two things that define the provider of office space — the idea of community and it’s stratospheric growth through many of the world’s main cities.
From the opening of that first office space almost a decade ago, WeWork’s offices have mushroomed to 484 other locations — that’s close to opening 50 offices a year — and is now the largest tenant in New York and one of the biggest in London.
