JLL EMEA chief executive Guy Grainger is to succeed Argent’s managing partner as the British Property Federation’s junior vice-president.
Argent’s David Partridge becomes the BPF’s vice-president, with chief executive Helen Gordon moving into the president’s role.
Gordon takes over from Landsec chief executive Robert Noel, who stands down today.
Grainger said: “The political landscape is witnessing significant disruption, and the BPF’s role will be more critical than ever in ensuring policy decision-makers treat us as a responsible and vital business sector to the UK. I look forward to working with Helen Gordon and David Partridge over the coming year to ensure our voice is heard.”
Gordon added: “The physical connection we have to people’s lives – the importance of the physical environment to people’s health and wellbeing – means the property sector not only has a particular responsibility but also a huge opportunity to demonstrate its credentials.”
The news comes as the BPF today unveils a study of the views of the sector, undertaken by Populus on its behalf.
The study surveyed more than 170 “stakeholders”, including 23 MPs, 10 city leaders, nine NGOs and more than 4,000 members of the general public.
