Primark has continued to power sales at Associated British Foods, despite poor weather in May denting the bargain fashion retailer’s performance.
ABF, which traces its history from 1935, is controlled by the billionaire Weston family. The business spans sugar, ingredients and groceries such as Twinings tea but has become best known for the 50-year-old clothing chain, which accounts for half its sales and profits.
