Pub regulator returns cash after a year with clean slate

The Pubs Code Adjudicator, which enforces industry rules, will return more than £800,000 to the businesses it regulates because it did not launch any investigations in the year to April.

The adjudicator’s annual report shows that it will return almost a third of the £2.5 million it raised from the pub-owning businesses it oversees owing to lower-than-expected staffing, legal and investigatory costs.
