A joint venture between Marks & Spencer and Ocado has set up its first facility, a 304,000 sq ft warehouse at the 19-acre SEGRO Logistics Park Purfleet, located near the M25 and the Dartford Crossing.
The facility will house Ocado’s robotic packing operation, and also marks Ocado’s fifth UK customer fulfilment centre. Work is due to begin on site later this month.
Ian Starling, group head of real estate at Ocado, said: “We are delighted to again be working with SEGRO as we prepare to build our fifth CFC in Purfleet.
“These are exciting times for Ocado.com – now a joint venture between Ocado Group and M&S – and this latest CFC will provide new capacity to bring an even better offer to UK customers.”
