Scott Parsons, the former managing director of Landsec’s retail portfolio, has been appointed as regional managing director for UK and Italy at Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield.
Parsons will take up the role on 13 November. He will report to Michel Dessolain, chief operating officer for Europe at URW.
His previous roles include president of European real estate at Brookfield Asset Management. He also spent 10 years at GE Capital Real Estate, where he led the UK business development team.
The news comes after longstanding UK and Europe boss Peter Miller left the shopping centre after nearly 25 years.
Dessolain said: “As regional managing director, Scott will be part of our growth story against the backdrop of a rapidly changing industry, particularly in the UK.
“His experience is of significant value to the group as we increase our focus on densification and mixed-use developments.”
