Redrow acquires £100m Maidstone development

Redrow South East has acquired a £100m development in Maidstone, Kent.

The 26-acre site at Bicknor Farm, Monchelsea Park, has outline planning consent for 302 homes, comprising a mix of one and two-bedroom flats and two, three, and four-bedroom family houses.

Redrow will develop houses from its Heritage Collection, based on the 1930s arts and craft movement. The scheme includes 30% affordable homes provision and a central green.

The housebuilder acquired the site from Jones Homes, which received consent for 271 homes in 2017. Redrow has submitted an application to Maidstone Council to secure detailed planning consent.

Glen Wells, land director at Redrow South East, said: “Maidstone and the surrounding area are fantastic places to live, with an incredible selection of schools and great connections to London.”

It is Redrow’s 13th development in Kent. The housebuilder previously completed a development on adjacent land at The Coppice.
